Honey Gin Gimlet | Gluten Free & More

The gin gimlet is one of the simplest and, in my humble opinion, sophisticated cocktails – typically made with just gin, lime juice, and simply syrup. This recipe bumps it up a notch by replacing simple syrup with Barenjager Honey Liqueur.

I just love the way the hint of honey compliments this drink.

The British Royal Navy used to drink gin gimlets as way of fighting scurvy. The British also used to drink gin and tonics (made with quinine tonic) to prevent getting malaria. Those Brits have a way of understanding that a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down. Or in this case a shot or two of gin.

My new favorite gin is 135 East Hyogo Dry Gin – it has the perfect balance of floral and citrus without seeming like you’re drinking a juniper brush. It is dry and balanced and makes a perfect martini!
