Homemade Cream Soda | Gluten Free & More

One of my favorite sodas of all time is cream soda. I decided to try and make a homemade version that didn’t include a lot of stuff that bottled soda contains. So, I did a little research.

It seems that the original cream soda, unlike the commercial kind of today, did in fact include cream.

I tested out various ways to make this decadent yet refreshing drink, and my favorite way is to include just three ingredients, Singing Dog Vanilla Syrup, heavy cream, and club soda.

Singing Dog Vanilla is organic, gluten-free, and alcohol-free, so it is fine for the kiddos. If dairy is an issue, you can use extra creamy oat milk or even coconut cream for a tropical spin. You can also just leave out the cream and add a touch more vanilla syrup. I like club soda rather than sparkling water but if sparkling water is what you have, it’s still great.

Growing up, soda was a rare treat, not an everyday thing. This homemade recipe is definitely a treat!

Enjoy.
