In addition to this weekend-long expo, a key component of this year’s event is a Stanford Health Education Day. This information-packed day will include topics such as celiac disease symptoms, treatments, follow-up, and future therapies. These speakers are presented by Stanford Health Care and Stanford Children’s Health in partnership with the Celiac Community Foundation of Northern California

Overall classic celiac “diagnosis and treatment,” presented by the directors of the Stanford Celiac Disease Program, Dr. Nasim Khavai and Nielsen Fernandez-Becker. The presentations will include discussion specific to celiac vs. NCGS/NCWS/FODMAPs, highlighting all the services available within the Stanford Celiac Disease Program.
“Gluten-Related Disorders: Follow-Up Treatment & Future Therapies”

After a diagnosis of celiac disease or gluten sensitivity – what’s next? Dr. Green will discuss clinical management of gluten-related disorders (celiac and non-celiac gluten or wheat sensitivity), including follow-up visits, vaccinations, and poorly responsive and refractory celiac disease. He will also review the exciting array of non-dietary therapies that are under development.
