Wednesday, Oct 2nd
Octoberfest is the theme for GF Eats with the Dr and the Chef featuring Chef Kimi Reid (gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free professional chef) and Dr Lisa Shaver (primary care physician and naturopathic doctor specializing in digestive disorders, celiac disease and non-celiac gluten sensitivity). This event runs from 6pm to 8pm at Charlee’s Teaching Kitchen at Helfgott Research Institute in downtown Portland. You will receive a smoothie upon arrival, a gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free cooking class and a sit-down dinner and personal time with the chef and Dr Shaver.



Autumn leaves and crisp evenings call for warm and comforting foods. Cozy up with a menu of brats & sauerkraut, warm German potato salad and dark beer brownies. Learn about live probiotic foods and gluten-free beer choices. Feast on the Octoberfest creations at the end.

Saturday, Oct 12th
October GIG meeting features our Branch Manager, Dr. Lisa Shaver, who returns from the International Celiac Disease Symposium and will share the latest research, new products and insights. Dr. Shaver is a primary care physician and naturopathic doctor who specializes in digestive disorders, celiac disease and non-celiac gluten sensitivity.

More than 40 Gluten-Free businesses will be at the Gluten-Free Food Fair on Saturday 10/19 from 11am to 3pm at Mount Hood Community College in the Vista Dining Room, 26000 S.E. Stark St., Gresham, Oregon 97030. There will be talks from local experts, lots of samples and a raffle.
